The first batch of Hefe-Weisse from the new fermenting tanks at East Cross Brewing is now safely in bottles. Now begins the $40 million marketing campaign to get East Cross Beer onto the lips of every American. A wiser beer company would have some sort of tie-in for product placement with some slick Hollywood production like Spider-Man 2, but ours is a different kind of beer company. To date, the best idea that marketing has come up with is to hang out in the parking lots of local high schools and give away free product samples.
The Swedes have done it again. They are now claiming that their studies show that video games make children fat and violent. It’s this kind of supposed research that makes me want to punch someone in the face. In defense of the Swedes, Detroit was named America’s fattest city as well as the nation’s most dangerous earlier this year. I still feel like hitting someone. Maybe I’ll just have a hoagie instead.
Finally, John Kerry won nine out of the ten primaries and caucuses held in today’s Super Tuesday extravaganza. Howard Dean beat the field in his home state of Vermont. John Edwards didn’t win a single state and likely will drop out in the coming days. Reports out of Edwards’ camp had him either staying in or dropping out. That kind of waffling makes me think Edwards for President in 2012.
