After spending more than thirteen hours out in the sun speaking about my platform and getting burned to a crisp, the final numbers are in. I took in 14% of the vote. As a write-in candidate, I feel that was a pretty good showing. I have a sense of satisfaction. I feel I’ve put my money where my mouth is and tried to affect change.

I learned a lot. I think I alos made some important connections. Even Bill Nickels from the 2nd Ward stopped to talk to me about my positions. It was good to hear that shares many of my same concerns. I tried to convince him that the first floor of the Michigan Avenue portion of the Water Street project needs to commercial, but that seemed to be our only point of disagreement. I still have work to do. I really feel that for thirteen sun-drenched hours I was part of the solution.
