So I’m sitting in a hotel in Hermosillo, Mexico watching an episode of SpongeBob Squarepants voiced-over in Spanish, you know, the one where the plankton try and steal Mr. Krab‘s secret recipe for Krabby Patties, anyway, when I realize that one of my poorly articulated entries has upset and offended a great number of hard-working people who should have been thanked for their efforts on Election Day. The hate mail didn’t hurt in driving home the point either (one, two, and three).
Acts of contrition usually aren’t well received because you’ve already pissed off a group of specific people, but I still feel the need for absolution. I wrongly took out my frustration over the outcome of the 2004 Presidential Election on the local members of MoveOn.org who worked very hard in keeping Michigan a blue state. I was lashing out at the nameless, faceless MoveOn.org organization, but in doing so, I diminished what they accomplished in our precinct, city, county, and state. My ire should have been directed towards George Soros, Laura Dawn, and Terry McAuliffe. Emotions run high and things don’t get properly articulated as they should. For that, I am truly sorry.
With that said, I’ve made my bed and now I must lie in it. If there are those who are still interested in fighting, drop me an email, and we’ll work something out on a first come, first served basis.
