The Council Scavenger Hunt

There was an all-day meeting yesterday of Ypsilanti’s City Council and all of the directors of all of the city departments that was open to the public. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss goal setting. I’ll bet that was a sight.

I would have loved to have been there to watch the antics, but I foolishly trusted the City’s web site to be up-to-date will all of the goings on about town.

Oh for crissakes, I’m just putting you on about that.

The City did make this meeting public by announcing it in the Ann Arbor News. I blame myself for missing this one. I should have realized that the city leaders don’t have enough common sense or integrity to use the resource that already exists to get the word out. Good work guys.

One of the more comical ideas discussed was a possible income tax. I suppose that’s not the comical part. The part that is comical is the same people who can’t run the City are going to be the same ones trying to get voters to approve an income tax. But maybe I am underestimating them. If they use their proven tactic of posting information around town like a scavenger hunt, then they could possibly run a brilliant campaign of confusion.

Regardless, I can’t wait for the next council meeting. That is, unless it’s cancelled or moved to the middle of the morning next time.
