Leibniz VS Newton

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Late on Friday evening, the Ypsilanti Police Department rolled out their new web site. As a service to the community, they now offer crime maps for your safety.

Sure, it’s not Ypsi Crime Maps, but to be fair, they are more in the business of serving and protecting then they are competing with me. The word on the street is that in these times of financial crisis, the labor was donated and the hosting is done for free. For a fleeting moment, I thought another officer was going to be cut in order to pay for the thing. Luckily, I was wrong again.

I was pleased to see that both sites developed independently of each other much the same way Sir Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz developed calculus, but as we all know, Leibniz’s calculus kicked Newton’s calculus’ ass.
