This Saturday (May 20th), the Historic East Side Neighborhod Association will be sponsoring the clean up of Prospect Park from 9AM to noon. Volunteers are asked only to bring strong backs, but items such as rakes and small garden tools are always welcome. The primary focus this year will be getting the corner of East Cross and Prospect whipped back into shape as well as continuing to expand a small sun bed by the cannon. Plans for the revitalization of Luna Lake will be on display for interested parties to review.
Last year, volunteers made the park so clean you could eat off of it as witnessed by one member of City Council who ate a creme-filled eclair that had been dropped to the ground.
PRIDE, which stands for People Restoring Image and Developing the environment not only helps the appearance of the community, but gives us a chance to meet new neighbors and catch up on news happenings with our friends.
After the clean up, participants are encouraged to enjoy a free picnic in Riverside Park.
We look forward to seeing you there.
