You Like Me, You Really Like Me

Well, a lot of crazy stuff happened last night.

I won, but I hardly consider that crazy.

On the State level, the Democrats took back the House and made strides in the Senate. Governor Granholm has not lost that title.

During the local primary election, there was a lot of rhetoric about how the State elections would affect Ypsilanti and it’s portion of State Shared Revenue. No one should be drawing conclusions one way or the other about this until we understand what will replace the sunsetting Single Business Tax. Maybe the Dems will have the juice to put a plan into place that will benefit built-up cities like Ypsilanti. Maybe they won’t. Until we know exactly what is going to happen, I’m not going to make any assumptions or draw any conclusions. I’m going to cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me yesterday. I’m very excited to ready to get to work.

In retrospect, I should not have limited my thanks to only those who voted for me. I would like to extend my thanks to all the legal, green card carrying supporters who could not cast ballots as well as those who voted for me.
