This is a friendly reminder that there will be a City Council work session on Water Street this Thursday, April 24th at 7PM in Council Chambers.
Topics will likely include next steps, details regarding the upcoming National Brownfields Conference from May 5th to the 7th at Detroit’s Cobo Center, as well as other rumblings concerning the project. Perhaps the rumor of the casino that was recently discussed at the Washtenaw Planning Advisory Board among other places will be touched upon.
In totally unrelated news, the undergraduate Planning Studio from Eastern Michigan University will be presenting their plans for the Water Street Redevelopment area this Wednesday, April 23rd beginning at 1:30PM in Council Chambers. I cannot confirm nor deny that the last student group scheduled for that day has been meeting weekly for the past three months with people loosely associated with a hypothetical minor-league baseball stadium project. I also cannot confirm nor deny their professor has scheduled them last because they are considered the “wow” project.
If you curious about this thing we call the Water Street Project, both events will definitely be worth your while.
