You figured it had to happen. The second the City of Ypsilanti commits $5K per year over the next three years to the new Ann Arbor SPARK incubator that will be located in Historic Downtown Ypsilanti, Governor Granholm uses her line-item veto and removes funding for two business incubators in Macomb and Washtenaw counties.

Each incubator was scheduled to receive $500K from the State. The Governor says the incubators should apply for the same funding through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Let’s just hope Ann Arbor SPARK gets this money somehow.
