Donuts. Is There Anything They Can’t Do?

The end of an era is coming to Historic Downtown Ypsilanti and it’s time for you to act before it’s too late.

Very soon, Terry’s Bakery will stop making donuts. Some government body is saying that unless they upgrade and replace their sprinkler system, they cannot use their deep fryer. Have no fear, they will still be able to bake delicious treats like Key Lime bars, but if you ever expect to be sitting in The Tap Room late on a Friday only to have Mark show up with a box of sinful, glazed goodness, you’ll be waiting a long time.

If only Mark was married to someone whose mother used to be a powerful member of the Michigan House of Representatives, maybe this wouldn’t be happening. But I digress.

Terry’s Bakery is located at 119 West Michigan Avenue in Historic Downtown Ypsilanti for your convenience. If you tell Ruth Ann that I sent you, she’ll treat you right. I mean, if you don’t mention my name it’s not like they are going to be rude or anything. I’m just saying if you mention my name, you might get some bonus donut holes or something.

On second thought, don’t mention my name. But hurry down there and get a couple dozen donuts now before it’s too late.

I read this. Then I went back to check to see if this was one of those April 1st stories. It wasn’t. Now I am having a bad day just thinking about this.

What is next? Will they ban smoking in businesses. What is this world coming too.
