The Ann Arbor News is reporting that David Kircher, patron of the arts and partner with Hollywood, has reported to prison for his involvement in the dumping of sewage into the Huron River from his Eastern Highlands apartments (now proud partners with Wireless Ypsi).
Kircher once tracked me down and came to my house after discovering my blog and a lot of unflattering posts that I made about him. After discussing our differences, we realized that we both shared a love for competitive bridge. Over the past several years, Mr. Kircher and myself competed as a team in more than a dozen tournaments in the southeastern Michigan area.
We did so well as a team that we won the District 12 MBA / SOMBA ProAm one year. Actually, I should say we were just about to win when, right before the winning trick, we were disqualified. Ironically, the reason for our disqualification was because Mr. Kircher spilled his drink all over the table during his premature celebration. I suppose my saying, “Take that motherf&%kers” to the losing team as I threw down my cards didn’t help. But, in the end, we all new it was his fault. I have to say that despite published reports, his drink was only 12 oz, and he did not in fact spill over 100,000 gallons of Diet Coke everywhere.
With Kircher now out of the way for up to five years, Ypsilanti must now set its sights on a new villian. Steve Pierce, we’re all looking at you.
