Kudos From The Chronicle

Comments (6) 10:55 AM posted by admin |

The Ann Arbor Chronicle picked up on my live blogging of the State’s budget proceedings and made the following comment:

Ypsilanti Ward 3 city councilmember Brian Robb, on his blog East-Cross.com, posts updates that the council has received from lobbyist Kirk Profit over the past week about budget deliberations in Lansing, including how locally elected state legislators have voted. These updates are sent to several local government bodies who contract with Profit for lobbying work. Kudos to Robb for making this information publicly available.

When it first ran, it was top page, above the fold material.

I don’t know if Dave Askins and Mary Morgan realize this or not, but I’m counting that as an endorsement. I fliered about 1,200 houses last night with literature that included a screen capture of the blurb. Thanks for your support.

You do realize that the Ann Arbor Chronicle publishes stories blog-style (most recent articles at the top), so theoretically, every story is, at some point, “above the fold”, right? When you “publish” this comment, and list it as the top comment (first!), can I count that as an endorsement too? I bet I can change my screen resolution and get it displayed “above the fold” in my browser! (I’ll have to hold off on telling you what you’re endorsing until I figure it out, but rest assured, there will be something.)

The Chronicle is a pseudo-newspaper that publishes things category style. Often they publish several stories at once. Today was an example of that as they published three stories with the 2nd and 3rd not getting the “above the fold” treatment.

More importantly, it was a self-depricating joke as it must be a slow news day when I’m on the Chronicle all day. The fact I had to explain that now ruins it for everyone else.

Sorry, I was trying to play along with the joke, not seriously argue about it. I guess my sense of humor isn’t as good as I thought it was.

I’m just joking too. Nothing can bring me down. I got kudos from the Chronicle.

I haven’t felt this good about something since I shredded “Through The Fire And The Flames” by Dragonforce on Guitar Hero on expert level.

I’d post link to the YouTube video of my exploits, but I don’t have a film permit.

Isn’t it OK as long as you say it’s news reporting? Maybe the Citizen will cover the story and you’ll be 2 for 2.
