Obey Ashcroft

Foreign travelers who need visas will now be photographed and fingerprinted upon their arrival to the US. I tried to show my support for John Ashcroft and voluntarily go over to the Detroit Metro airport and do my part for the fight on terror, but I was rebuffed. So I headed over to the Ambassador Bridge in hopes of getting some ink, but again I was turned down as not being “suspicious enough” according to U.S. Customs. I did win $22 playing Pai Gow poker at Casino Windsor, so the effort wasn’t totally wasted.

Because I was running around trying to be patriotic, I missed the first radio-only Presidential debate since 1948. Apparently, U.S. Rep Dennis Kucinich held up and spoke to a pie chart about the Pentagon budget. Kucinich was interrupted by moderator Neal Conan who said, “Congressman Kucinich is holding up a pie chart, which is not truly effective on radio.” I was beginning to lean towards the Kucinich campaign until I heard this one. I guess I have to put the John Kerry sign back out in the front yard. As a reminder, register to participate in the Michigan Democratic Caucus. You have until 31 January to do so.
