Yesterday I mentioned how much I love Segwayâ„¢ transporters. In addition to my off-road Segway activities, I have long been looking for other environmental activists like myself who feel that it’s okay haul your Segwayâ„¢ Human Transporter i Series around in the back of your H2 or Ford Excursion. Well, it turns out that Teresa Heinz-Kerry owns three SUVs. She is a kindred spirit. No more liberal-guilt. I am at peace with the world.

How’s this for irony? Yesterday, President Bush apologized to the Arab world for the random instances of torture in Iraq. Today it was announced that for the 2004 Republican National Convention in NYC, Madison Square Garden will have devices attached to it that will provide an electric shock to any bird that lands on it. I am assuming this shock is to prevent the birds from soiling buildings that will be used for photo opportunities, but in the back of mind, I think this just continues a pattern of abuse that the current administration has shown towards our winged-friends. I find it disturbing that the National Pigeon Association is silent during all of this. Perhaps they are afraid that speaking out against Bush could jeopardize current tax breaks they currently receive.
