Mailing Lists

It was a weird day for the blog. Sometimes your name shows up on some bizarre mailing lists.

In an effort to honor the late, great Fay Wray, the Empire State Building dimmed its lights this evening for 15 minutes and shot down a giant gorilla that tried to to climb it.

Speaking of tall buildings, the Museum of Modern Art‘s exhibition entitled “Tall Buildings” runs through September 27th. If you are unable to make it to NYC to see it in person, the online exhibition is outstanding. It is an exhibition of twenty-five buildings designed in the last decade.

Finally, a loyal Canadian reader from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan alerted me to the great progress that Canada is making in the area of flame retardant salmon. It turns out that farm-raised salmon have much higher levels of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) than wild salmon. This is yet another excellent example of natural selection in action.
