If you keep supporting downtown businesses and showing up to their events, sooner or later they are going to reward you for your loyalty.

Friday, September the 14th marks the final concert date for this year’s Ypsilanti Crossroads Music Festival. For the occassion, the kind folks of Crossroads in conjunction with the Downtown Association of Ypsilanti have asked me to host. While I can’t give away all of the special surprises we have in store for everyone, I can say that if you’ve been one of the many angry people who have received $50 parking tickets after having your resident parking permit expire, there is an excellent chance that I’ll be able to make it disappear. Whether the City recognizes my benevolent acts of absolution is a something I cannot promise.

In addition to the fabulous prizes that can be won from the 50/50 drawing, one person will receive a certificate good for ten minutes at audience participation.

This isn’t the kind of stuff you’ll find at Fourth Fridays. And best of all, it’s free.

Crossroads is family-friendly and parking is always free. They don’t require you to have a permit to park downtown. All you need is a friendly attitude, however, surly people are welcomed with open arms.

Johnny Reed & The House Rockers will be making the trek all the way from up from Toledo, Ohio to headline this season-closing event. Ann Arbor singer/songwriter Lisa Pappas will open with her distinctive blend of folk melodies and ethereal vocals.

Crossroads is located on Washington Street between Michigan Avenue and Pearl Street. Music will start promptly at 7PM. Be there or be a loser.
