While not as controversial as the East Coast / West Coast rap summit hosted by Howard Stern back in 1997, Council member Pete Murdock and I will be hosting a a meeting of representatives from the four Eastside Neighborhood Associations to discuss Prospect Park and what we all can do maintain and improve our Eastside treasure while facing declining resources. We would also invite represenatives from Adams School, the “Y”, the recreation commission and the City to brainstorm on this topic. (Clean-up, maintenance, equipment, programming, security,etc are all issues we could tackle.)

We have been kicking around a need for this kind of Summit for sometime and have been awaiting the recreation commission’s recommendations for an Adopt-A-Park program.

The Prospect Park Summit is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th at 7:00PM in the multipurpose room at Adams School. Enter from the door on the North side off the parking lot. Looking forward to an exciting meeting. Bring whomever is interested from your groups. We hope to have representatives from the Prospect Park NA, HESNA, East Prospect Park NA, Miles Area NA, Adams School, the Recreation Commission, YMCA and the City.
